A one-of-a-kind experience to see Esport Game: Identity V

Recap by Alia Kong, Initiator of Kids Power Society

Thank you Mr Ross for giving us VIP access @ Netease to see the Esport Game: Identity V in Guangzhou.  It was truly an eye-opening experience and it gave us insight for developing our ultimate project of a Society Metaverse.

I first thought Esport was just about hardcore gaming, but after witnessing a live round, I realize that it is a sport as great as the sports of the Olympics.

The gameplayers of Identity V is 1v4, one hunter v four survivors.

When being the hunter in the game, it takes a lot of planning and intelligence to capture all four survivors to win.

When being the team of survivors however, they must use teamwork to strategize and free their teammates and complete all tasks to find the exit from the hunter.

In conclusion, it takes experience, intelligence, teamwork, reflex and skill to think all-roundly and be a top-notched Esport Competitor.

Something that caught my eye, was how AR tech was integrated.  In real life, we see the players with their phones choosing their characters for battle.  Whereas, on screen broadcasting the game live, we see a 3D Animated Model of the characters in place of the players!  The character selection even changes on spot too!

This also led me to realize that Game Development is quite complex too.  We need to mind about hardware, storage, game flow, graphics, animations, command coding, environment settings, SFX, VFX, game control…etc and so much more.  This would be the closest thing to a metaverse right now with the tech or AR and MR.  So how can we put all three together and make it an immersive experience?

We look forward to our future collaboration! Their final national contest of championship will be held @ SuZhou Stadium by end of August.
